A little about me

Hi, I'm Bridget.

I am an avid advocate for holistic wellness and have been practicing yoga for nearly two decades.

After receiving my bachelor's in psychology at 19, I re-evaluated my aspirations and discovered my true passion for whole system healing, healing our bodies, our minds and the earth which sustains us. After completing an amazing permaculture design course with Whole Systems Design in 2015, and with the encouragement of loved ones, I decided to further my passion for the practice by completing a 200 hour teacher training with Sanctuary Yoga in Gainesville, Florida in 2016. The talented teachers there helped transform my practice. Instead of halfheartedly flying through familiar poses attempting to "work out", I developed a love for what I like to call a "work in". Being completely present in your body and feeling into the sensation of activated asana, honoring intuitively guided movement, self-massage and the healing stillness and meditation of restorative and yin yoga.

In February 2018, I birthed my son in our home in Brevard, North Carolina. The experience further deepened my connection to intuitive bodily wisdom and inspired the desire to learn more about Ayurveda, herbal medicine and the power of mantra and meditation. In November 2019, I completed Vira Bhava Yoga's 300 hour advanced teacher studies. And in 2021 my sister Kelly and I took on ownership of Brevard Yoga Center, opening in its new location on West Main Street in downtown Brevard.

 If you're looking for a typical yoga flow instructor, I'm not it. I prefer to encourage a very mindful practice that involves a lot of exploration into sensing what is right for your individual body at that time and a lighthearted approach that includes some terrible jokes and laughter when we might be taking ourselves too seriously. I am also a level 2 Reiki practitioner and have been practicing EFT for the past 10 years.

I love sharing these tools for transformation and teaching the art of wellness that begins from within.
